What Is cPanel?

cPanel is a web based hosting control panel provided by many hosting providers to website owners allowing them to manage their websites from a web based interface. This program gives users a graphical interface from which they can control their portion of the web server. The tools provided are designed to simplify running and controlling a website. It uses a tiered structure that allows different levels of access. Administrators can control the different aspects of the server and the website directly through their browser. Depending on the hosting provider the cPanel will generally have some sort of auto installer or package dedicated to content management systems like Joomla! or WordPress.

STANDARD WEBSITE PACKAGES

A "standard" website is any typical business website consisting of a variety of elements that communicates a product, service, or idea. How that content is structured depends who you are trying to attract.  Majority of the websites we build for our business clients are standard websites, consisting of original or stock photos, written copy, and many other dynamic features like forms, slideshows, and even videos. Browse the tabs below for a better understanding of our standard websites for businesses.

  • Framework

WEBSITES BUILT USING CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS

Our standard websites are built on widely-used Content Management Systems (CMS), specifically Joomla! or Wordpress.  Spider Web LLC specializes in Joomla! CMS, which provides rich features and extendability.  Sometimes folks prefer Wordpress, and we can build websites on Wordpress as well.

  • THE BASIC FEATURES & ANATOMY OF A STANDARD WEBSITE

    Header & Call-To-Action

The website header is mainly considered the space right below the web address bar, and is a space typically designated for elements like your logo, call-to-action, and contact information. Many headers also include the menu bar, depending on spacing restrictions. Since it's the top of the page, the header should grab the attention of your visitors and promote engagement. That's why, typically, the header includes your branding, and a call-to-action to help prompt action from your visitor.

    Website header section

    Navigation Menus

A menu is simply a collection of buttons that contain the hierarchy of your website.  The main menu, typically in the header or banner sections, should contain a clean and user-friendly structure of links that helps your visitor easily navigate every portion of your website.

It's also common to put menu links in on different sections of the website, like the footer or next to the main content, which makes it easier to visitors to find different pages on your site.  Our standard websites include a main menu with drop-down functionality, plus menus can be placed anywhere else you prefer.

    Website menu section

    Banner / Showcase

The banner, or sometimes called showcase, is typically reserved for visual elements like images, graphics, or videos, along with text. Located below your main menu and logo, this section is very often used to showcase key services, products, or ideas to the visitor.

This area can include static images, or more dynamic elements like forms, sliding images, or videos.  This section should be reserved for the most visually appealing elements of the website.  With our standard website packages, you can mix-and-match as many different elements in the banner area to meet your needs.

    Website banner

    Main Content

Website content basically includes the written copy (text), images, videos, and any other simple elements used to communicate your service, brand, or products. Simply put, the content is the heart and soul of your website, and should be carefully composed and structured so that it successfully speaks to your target audience. The main content is also referred to as the "body" of your website.

Within our standard website packages, content is to be supplied by the client. More often than not, our clients need counseling on preparing their content for the website. We will work directly with you to help draft your content to its fullest potential. The most important thing is that your content is unique and fresh, so it speaks to your target audience. For clients who want their content to deliver maximum SEO benefits, we also offer additional copywriting services for your entire website.

    Contact Forms

Dynamic (interactive) forms are the simplest way for your visitors to contact you. The main benefit of having forms on your website is to encourage visitors to inquire about your goods and services. As opposed to sending you an email directly, the sender isn't required to have their own email address to send the form, as the form submits itself from the website server. The information sent is collected and securely sent to an email address of your choice.

Website forms have the ability to:

    • Collect information
    • Account registration / logins
    • Schedule appointments
    • Upload and transmit documents
    • Accept payments

Each form can be customized to be as simple or dynamic as you want, plus simple widgets can be implemented to prevent SPAM. Contact forms are included in all websites we build, and you can add as many as you want.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO BUILD MY WEBSITE?

There are a lot of factors that come into play that determine how long it takes to build a website. Naturally, the volume and complexity of the content directly affects the timeline. Also, how promptly the client delivers the content...sometimes it takes clients longer than others to prepare their materials, etc. To expedite the process, we make sure we plan ahead with the client and establish a realistic plan-of-action before building the site.

WHAT IS A WEBSITE MADE UP OF?

Any website consists of a network of folders and files that exist on a server. Most websites nowadays also have a database file attached to it that contains certain contents of the site. The nature, or structure of the files of course depends on the build and contents of the website.

DO YOU PROVIDE HOSTING AND EMAIL?

Yes, we use trusted, third party hosting and email providers for my clients. Hosting is very affordable, starting at around $4 / month and is secure and fast. For email, I recommend using Google G Suite which costs $5 / month per email account.

CAN I USE MY OWN HOSTING PLAN FOR THE SITE YOU BUILD?

In most cases, yes. If your hosting account comes with "Cpanel", then we can build your site on your preexisting hosting plan.

DO YOU PROVIDE THE DOMAIN FOR MY WEBSITE?

We highly recommend purchasing your own domain using a trusted domain registrar, that way you have control over the domain forever. We recommend using Godaddy for domain registration.

DO YOU PROVIDE SSL (Secure Socket Layer) CERTIFICATES?

Yes, every site we build comes with a SSL certificate installed for no extra charge. SSL certificates are borderline required nowadays for any website. For more information on the details and benefits of a SSL certificate, click here.

WHAT COSTS ARE INVOLVED AFTER THE SITE IS LAUNCHED?

Technically, once the site is live your only mandatory expense is your ongoing hosting and domain registration fee, which renews depending on the terms of your plan. We provide monthly maintenance packages and "per job" rates for your website, which can include content revisions, security updates, and SEO marketing optimization.

WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE A WEBSITE? CAN YOU OVERHAUL IT INSTEAD OF BUILDING A NEW ONE?

Each case is different, but we can evaluate your current website to see if it is indeed possible for us to take on and overhaul it. We have done it many times before, but have also declined taking on websites due to various reasons.

CAN I ACCEPT PAYMENTS WITH A STANDARD WEBSITE?

Yes, it's quite easy to integrate a third party payment gateway like Paypal or Square. However, for high volume product sales, having an E-commerce shopping cart website is a must.

E-COMMERCE WEBSITE PACKAGES

An "e-commerce" or "shopping cart" website is a dynamic website consisting of products and services, giving consumers the ability to make purchases online.  When it comes to e-commerce, think of Amazon, the global giant in online shopping.  Ofcourse, an online shopping site the size of Amazon.com is way above and beyond anything a small or medium-sized business would need, but it contains just about every component you would need in an online e-commerce store.

Ecommerce websites are a great way to sell products and make maximum ROI.  Many companies rely on their online store for the majority of their revenue, as it cuts out the need for brick and mortar stores, and all the other overhead involved with standard retail. Your online store can sell your products 24/7 while you sleep! However, there is a rather large learning curve involved when running an online store, as all the working parts are managed within a control panel.  You can have every component that would exist on a standard website, plus all the additional features needed for an online shop. Browse the tabs below for a complete breakdown of our ecommerce shopping cart websites.

Website content includes the written copy (text), images, videos, and any other simple elements used to communicate your brand and sell products. Simply put, the content is the heart and soul of your website, and should be carefully composed and structured so that it successfully speaks to your target audience and encourages online sales. Within our e-commerce website packages, content is to be supplied by the client. More often than not, our clients need counseling on preparing their content for the website. We will work directly with you to help draft your content to its fullest potential. The most important aspect of content writing for e-commerce sites is drafting catchy and descriptive content for your product pages. Product specs, high-resolution images, and even videos grab and maintain the attention of potential buyers.

For clients who want their content to deliver maximum SEO benefits, we also offer additional copywriting services for your entire website.

    Product Categories & Pages

Within any e-commerce website, it's important to properly categorize and communicate your products. Depending on the volume of products and varying categories, there should be a clear hierarchy breaking down your different products, making it easy for your potential customers to find your products.

The final product page is where a customer can find all pertinent information needed for them to make a purchase.

Important features of product pages include:

    • High-resolution images and videos, including slideshows and product zoom-in capabilities
    • Product name
    • SKU or product number
    • Customer star ratings
    • A clear and detailed product description
    • Any warranty or return policy information
    • Price, quantity, and product variation selections (color, styles, model, etc).
    • A clear and attention-grabbing purchase button (buy now, add to cart, etc)

    Shopping Cart and Checkout

The shopping cart portion of an e-commerce site is simply the section consumers land on before purchasing their items. A shopping cart page should provide detailed information about the items, and act as the beginning steps in purchasing, or "check-out".

Common features of shopping cart pages include:

    • Complete descriptions of all items to be purchased
    • Shipping options and pricing
    • Total price, including tax, shipping, etc
    • Functions to remove or edit items in the shopping cart
    • Check-out portal, including payment options, payment processing, and purchase confirmation

    Customer Account Login

When running an online store, it's crucial to encourage and accommodate return customers. Our e-commerce sites have built-in, secure account capabilities for every customer that makes a purchase on your store. When they purchase a product for the first time, they can create their own online account through your store that preserves all their purchase information, billing / shipping address, and more. This makes it convenient for return customers to login, manage their past orders, and expedite future purchases.

    Online Store Control Panel

With every e-commerce site we build, it comes complete with comprehensive store management software that allows you to manage every aspect of your online store from A to Z. CMS program, and we can provide tutoring and coaching for our clients to become proficient with the software and manage it themselves day-to-day.

    Store control panel features include:

    • Payment processing management (third-party credit card processing arranged by client)

  • QUESTIONS TO YOUR ANSWERS!

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO BUILD MY E-COMMERCE WEBSITE?

There are alot of factors that come into play that determine how long it takes to build a website. With e-commerce websites, there are a quite a bit more components and decisions involved compared to a standard website. The timeframe depends on alot of factors, but we work directly with our clients to coordinate the content and keep the build process moving forward as quickly as possible.

IS IT DIFFICULT TO MANAGE THE ONLINE STORE?

The online store control panel included with the Joomla! CMS is built for the common business owner to manage. But, just like anything else, a new system takes time to learn and become fluent with. We can provide tutoring and coaching for our clients to help them understand and use the control panel.

DO YOU PROVIDE HOSTING AND EMAIL FOR MY E-COMMERCE SITE?

Yes, we use trusted, third party hosting and email providers for my clients. Hosting is very affordable, starting at around $4 / month and is secure and fast. For email, I recommend using Google G Suite which costs $5 / month per email account.

CAN I USE MY OWN HOSTING PLAN FOR THE SITE YOU BUILD?

In most cases, yes. If your hosting account comes with "Cpanel", then we can most likely build your e-commerce site on it. It's also important to look at the "bandwidth" allowances with a hosting plan. If you expect a high volume of visitors/purchases, you want to make sure your hosting plan is robust enough to handle the traffic.

Technically, once the site is live you will need to pay for the renewal of your hosting plan, domain, and any transaction costs included with your payment gateway. For ongoing maintenance and marketing for your e-commerce website, we provide monthly maintenance packages and "per job" rates for your website, which can include content revisions, security updates, and SEO marketing optimization.

WHAT IF I ALREADY HAVE AN E-COMMERCE WEBSITE? CAN YOU OVERHAUL IT INSTEAD OF BUILDING A NEW ONE?

With e-commerce websites, there are many different programs and systems you can use. Before we can take on any existing e-commerce site, we would have to evaluate the site and system it runs on first.

HOW DO I IMPLEMENT A PAYMENT GATEWAY WITH MY SITE?

There are a variety of different payment gateways and third party POS providers you can use. The simplest form of payments is using Paypal. With Paypal, you can implement a payment gateway and accept Paypal or credit cards. The fees are usually per transaction, but they may charge a flat monthly fee too.

For higher volume sales, it's sometimes more cost-effective to work with a third party POS or merchant processor, as they can provide cheaper rates sometimes.

HOW DO I IMPLEMENT SHIPPING WITH MY SITE?

The first step is to shop around your shipping providers. UPS, FedEX, and USPS all have digital shipping systems you can implement in your online store. Some may have restrictions on shipping (international, interstate, etc). How far you are willing to ship products can determine which shipping provider is best as well. These different providers have systems you can implement in your online store that makes shipping easy, including shipping calculators that determine shipping prices based on destination, volume, and weight.

WEBSITE HOSTING

Before your website can go live on the internet, it must be hosted on a web server.  A web host is simply a server (computer) that hosts all the files for your website, and loads your website when someone navigates to it in a web browser. It's important to have a web hosting plan that can provide speed, security, and reliability for your website.

Which hosting plan is right for me?

Typically, most businesses only need a "Shared" hosting plan. These hosting plans provide plenty of resources for your website, and can be purchased for a few dollars per month. Now, if you plan on hosting hundreds of websites, or a website that draws in a very large volume of traffic per day (Amazon.com), than you would consider a more robust "Dedicated" or "Cloud" hosting plan, but that is usually way more than anyone would need.

Spider Web LLC provides affordable shared website hosting for our clients.  All of our shared hosting plans come with the latest in SSD technology (Solid State Drive) which provides hyper fast loading speeds while keeping your website secure, and "cPanel" website management interface, the most popular web hosting control panel due to its ease of use.  This website you are on right now is powered by a SSD shared hosting plan. Notice how fast it loads?  So does Google : )

WEBSITE DOMAINS

A website domain is simply your website address.  It's important to plan for the right domain address, because having a relevant and memorable website domain is crucial for growing a strong brand, and also for strong SEO rankings.  There's a reason why domain brokers have domains for sale that reach in the tens of thousands of dollars.

Which domain suffix is right for me?

Nowadays, there are a variety of domain suffix's to buy.  For your business, having a .com is your best bet.  However, if you have exclusive online shops or a non-profit organization domains that end in ".shop" or ".org" are ideal.

If you are unsure about which domain is best for your brand, contact us and we'd be glad to help find your domain.

Having A Strong Search Engine Optimization Strategy Is The Engine That Powers Your Online Success

Your website should be your most powerful marketing tool. At Spider Web, we stand by this statement, because it's the consumer that drives our marketing decisions, and the majority of consumers rely on the internet to find goods and services.  Ask yourself when's the last time you used the phone book to find a business?  We aren't mind readers, but looking at today's market it's safe to say the answer is "I'm not sure" or "what's a phone book?".  Point is, consumers don't use phone books anymore, they are using Google more and more every day to find that local service professional with the best online presence and reputation.

Grabbing your target audience online begins with equipping your website to not only achieve high rankings on Google, but also encourage your audience to choose you over your competition.  The practice of driving traffic and sales through your website is called Search Engine Optimization, and it is the most efficient way of generating new customers, and growing your business.

WHAT IS SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION?

Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the purest form of "Pull Marketing". Also known as internet or online marketing, it is simply the most efficient and powerful method for lead generation. It is the practice of optimizing your website and digital fingerprint so you can be found online when you want, where you want, and by who you want.

There are many different practices involved in SEO, broken down into "organic" or "paid" SEO practices. It's important to know that SEO itself is, and always will be a journey...never a destination.  It is a constant "cat and mouse" game of optimizing your online presence to stand out from your competition.  Don't let anyone, or company tell you they are "SEO experts" or they have it all figured to an exact science. SEO is not an exact science, rather a humanistic practice that requires adaptation.  In addition to being an exceptional lead generation tool, SEO allows you to gain a better understanding of your consumer by collecting more in-depth marketing data, and use that data to make more powerful marketing decisions.

Organic SEO

The two main buckets that all SEO practices fall under is "Organic" and "Paid" SEO strategies.  Organic SEO is the practice of optimizing your online presence without paying directly for rankings.  Some of these practices include Local SEO, Content Development, and Online Reputation Management. Organic SEO is more of a process, and delivers many unique benefits. Organic SEO requires more time and TLC invested, but once you achieve healthy organic search engine rankings, you can target your audience more efficiently and get better overall ROI.

Paid SEO

Paid SEO is the practice of paying a search platform to place your business listing at the top of a search engine or social media network, based on certain keyword searches or demographics you choose. It's a "right-now' form of online advertising that is very flexible, and allows you to target who you want, when you want, where you want. Some popular platforms include Google Ads, Bing Ads, and Facebook.  With these campaigns, you get immediate placement in front of your target audience, where you will be charged a variable "cost-per-click" every time a consumer *engages with your listing.

 * Engagements vary depending on the advertising platform. Typical engagements are defined by website visits, email leads, call leads, page likes, or views.

LOCAL SEARCH OPTIMIZATION (LOCAL SEO)

Local Search Optimization (Local SEO) is an organic SEO practice that focuses on connecting local businesses with local consumers on Google.  It is a more concentrated SEO practice, as you are optimizing your online presence in specific locations. Why is local SEO important?  It all goes back to adapting to what your target consumers want.  Consumers, more often than not, want to hire or buy from company's that are LOCAL, this is especially the case with brick and mortar stores, as consumers want to shop locally.

If you are a service-based company (attorney, carpet cleaning, HVAC, etc), consumers tend to gravitate to businesses that primarily serve their local area, they tend to have a better comfort level with businesses that have a history of serving their community.  Online reviews for local businesses will have feedback from consumers in their area, helping them make better decisions.

The Anatomy Of Local SEO Pages

Let's take a look at this local SEO page for Mr. Furnace Heating and Cooling: Furnace Installation in Troy, MI

This page is focusing on consumers looking for heating installation services in the Troy area. The two main components of the local SEO page is the service/product, and the location. In this case, the service = "Furnace Installation" and the location = "Troy, MI".

You'll even notice the same concept in the URL address (https://heatingandcoolingservice.com/michigan/heating-system-installation-troy). It's important to have a good mix of relevant service and location keywords throughout the content and URL structure.

  • ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS!

HOW WILL MY GOOGLE RANKING DIFFER ON DESKTOP, MOBILE, AND TABLET DEVICES?

The majority of the ranking signals or factors that Google uses to rank sites is consistent across desktop, mobile, and tablet devices. The biggest outlier that determines how a site ranks on mobile devices is how "mobile-friendly" or responsive your site is. If your website is not mobile-friendly, your search engine rankings will suffer.

HOW DO I KNOW WHICH LOCATIONS TO TARGET?

A pretty subjective question, as each business has a different target market. It's recommended you do some research within different cities and counties to get an idea of population density, median income, and your competition in that area (can be done easily via Google). That data will help you determine which areas could be most beneficial for your local SEO. We can provide consulting for your local SEO decisions.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO ENLIST MY BUSINESS IN ONLINE DIRECTORIES?

It can take some time for your business to be live and visible in any given directory (depending on the individual directory), but we can at least complete the listings usually within a week. Some listings, like Google and Bing, require listing verification through the mail, which can take up to 2 weeks.

CAN I ENLIST MY BUSINESS IN MORE THAN 38 DIRECTORIES?

There are a plethora of listings out there you can enlist your business in, but many of them require a paid subscription. We list your business in free directories only, if you would like to look at other paid listings, we can help you sign up for those as well. Contact us for details.

HOW DO YOU KNOW WHICH KEYWORDS TO USE FOR THE CONTENT?

We use intuitive keyword search programs to research the most relevant search keywords in a specific area.  Once we collect those keywords, we use them as building blocks for the content, in the meta tags, copy, and even the image tags.

HOW CAN I TRACK THE PERFORMANCE OF LOCAL SEO PAGES?

The most intuitive way to track a page on your site is through Google Analytics.  It's free to sign up and you can track almost any type of metric for your site.

  • ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS!

HOW MUCH DOES A "CLICK" COST FOR GOOGLE ADS?

Probably the most common question we get! The cost per click varies based on a significant amount of factors. The more advertising competition in a certain area, the higher the cost for the clicks. So, advertising your business across an entire county would have a higher click cost vs. a single zip code, or even city. Google Ads operates on standard economics, but on a virtual level. The more players in the game, the higher the price. Also, how your ads and landing pages are structured have an impact on click cost, as well. A Google Ads professional will know how to optimize your campaign and landing page to get the best ROI.

CAN YOU ADVERTISE ON DIFFERENT DEVICES?

Yes, for Google and Facebook Advertising. With Google Ads, advertising on a desktop means you are encouraging folks to engage with your website, typically. On mobile devices, you can opt to advertise your website, or users can call you directly, or both.

DO I NEED A WEBSITE TO RUN A GOOGLE ADS CAMPAIGN?

Yes, and this may seem obvious, but for advertising on mobile there is an option to advertise "call-only", where the consumer calls you directly and doesn't even visit your website at all. Even so, you must have a website listed with the campaign, it allows Google to validate your business and the services you offer, which also attributes to more affordable click costs.

HOW DOES THE BIDDING WORK FOR GOOGLE ADS?

With Google Ads, you are bidding on keywords. Each campaign has a list of keywords you want your listing to show up for when Google users search for that keyword. Each keyword has an associated bid cost. Some keywords have higher bids, depending on how many of your competitors are bidding on that keyword. The highest bidder on any given keyword usually gets the more favorable ranking on Google.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I SPEND PER MONTH ON GOOGLE ADS?

This mainly depends on your personal budget, how often you are advertising, and how big of an area you are advertising in. We've seen clients spend as little as $100 /month, and some that spend upwards of $6,000 /month. The average monthly spend we encounter is about $350 /month.

HOW CAN I TRACK THE PERFORMANCE OF MY GOOGLE OR FACEBOOK CAMPAIGNS?

Both Google Ads and Facebook allow for advanced metrics tracking for your campaign, especially Google. You can track highly comprehensive data, like visits, phone calls, locations of searchers, age of searchers, hours of day/days of week performance, and much more. This comprehensive data collection proves to be very insightful and helps make the advertising more efficient.

IS THERE ANY CONTRACTS INVOLVED? WHAT IF I WANT TO CANCEL?

We have clients that pause their campaigns quite regularly, for various reasons. It doesn't matter, you can suspend or activate your campaign any time, where we prorate your monthly fee accordingly. In addition, there are no contracts or obligations involved.

HOW DO I PAY FOR MY ADS?

With Google Ads and Facebook Advertising, you put a credit card on file, where the system charges your credit card every 30 days for the amount of advertising costs you have accumulated.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I QUALIFY FOR LOCAL SERVICE ADS THROUGH GOOGLE?

Google only offers this program to certain service-based industries, and this list continues to grow. More of the popular ones are HVAC, plumbing, roofing, electrician, and carpet cleaning. Depending on the industry, you may be required to provide licensing for your trade. Each account requires the business owner or manager to complete a background check. If you have multiple employees that work directly on-site for your customers, they might require one as well. For more information on the specifications and if your industry qualifies, visit the Google resource page.

DO YOU HAVE TO MANAGE A LOCAL SERVICE ADS CAMPAIGN LIKE A STANDARD GOOGLE ADS CAMPAIGN?

Typically with Local Service Ads, which makes them even more attractive, is the fact they are very low maintenance. Outside of changing settings like business hours, budget, or ad schedule, you very rarely need to manage or adjust it.

Inbound link-building is the practice of publishing relevant content on external websites that contain links back to your site (backlinks). • ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS!

HOW DO I CHOOSE TOPICS FOR MY CONTENT?

SHOULD I INCLUDE IMAGES WITH MY CONTENT POSTS?

Yes, it's always recommended to add relevant images to a post. It not only adds to the visual presentation of the content, but also adds more SEO "juice" to your content in the eyes of Google. It's important to use authentic images or paid stock photos. Using copyrighted images without the consent of the owner is poor ethics and can lead to legal trouble.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I POST NEW CONTENT/PAGES ON MY WEBSITE?

It's recommended that you post at least 2 new pieces of content to your site, per month. In addition, it's also recommended to post at least 2 pieces of external content (guest posts with backlinks) per month. Overall, it's important to gear your content strategy so you stay ahead of your online competition.

    WHAT IS A "GUEST BLOG"?

a Guest Blog is a blog post posted within an external website that links back to your website. Guest blog posts are a common backlinking practice that is crucial for healthy organic Google rankings.

    WHAT IS A "GUEST PDF"?

a Guest PDF is another medium of content posted externally that contains backlinks. Instead of posting the content as "HTML" text in a web page, the content is posted as a PDF document that visitors can view online, or download as well. There are a variety of PDF content sites we use to post guest PDF documents in.

    WHAT IS "OUTREACH"?

Outreach refers to the act of identifying external sources to post your content in (guest blogs, press releases, social media posts, etc.). We use a specialized "identifier" system to find quality sources that meet certain standards for backlinking. Depending on certain factors, we "outreach" to relevant and credible content sites that have strong Google credibility. The better credibility of the sources you post within, the better the SEO benefits. Remember, it's about quality over volume, in today's world you can't cheat to achieve healthy SEO rankings.

    WHAT DOES "CONTENT PROMOTION" MEAN?

Once your blogs are published in your site, we promote the content within one content marketplace that brings added visibility to your blog. Some examples of content marketplaces are social media networks, Taboola, and OutBrain.

HOW CAN I TRACK THE PERFORMANCE OF MY CONTENT STRATEGY?

Google Analytics tracks page metrics for your site and is the best way to track the organic SEO performance for your content. Google Analytics is free and easy to setup, click here to learn more and sign up for Google Analytics.

turn your customer's feedback into a powerful voice that propels your online sales

Quality online reviews = WINNING!  There's no real secret to it, having a strong network of customer feedback equates to a better reputation in the eyes of consumers, and in turn better online sales.  Before the internet was even a thing, many businesses relied exclusively on word-of-mouth and referrals from their happy customers to retain customers, and acquire new ones.  With today's age of internet marketing, consumers still follow that same trend.  Platforms like Google, Yelp, Facebook, among others provide a digital word-of-mouth platform for your consumers to gauge your company's reputation, and ultimately decide if you are worth their money.  If your competitors have better online reviews than you, rest assured they are getting more business than you.

Let's back up for a second and talk about the nature of generating quality reviews.  Bottom line, you MUST make your customers happy.  Reviews are more than just star ratings or written testimonials. Reviews are real, genuine emotions conveyed by your customers that reflect their experience with your business.  In order to achieve better online reviews and broadcast them to the public, it starts with establishing a great customer experience.  It's all apart of our online reputation management services we provide for our clients. We work with Michigan businesses to generate positive reviews from their customers, and squeeze every drop of marketing juice out of them in order stand out from the competition, and boost customer retention/acquisition.

HOW WE PRODUCE QUALITY ONLINE REVIEWS FOR YOUR BUSINESS

It's important to know that customers are much more inclined to leave an online review when they are A: super pissed off and unsatisfied, or B: extremely happy and satisfied.  Most businesses do quality work and are worthy of great reviews, but how do they encourage their customers to provide their feedback online?

Our goal is simple, to generate a high volume of positive reviews for Michigan businesses, and publish them on as many digital platforms as possible. There are many techniques we exercise for our clients to not only encourage customers to provide their feedback, but to screen out the potential bad reviews.  We focus on singling out the satisfied customers, and providing them the platform to voice their positive reviews.  We help our clients setup an outreach plan, which includes various email correspondence and face-to-face engagement methods that encourage their customers to leave reviews. As reviews are collected, we embed them within the client's website and make them visible within Google search results, which not only stands out from your competition but also produces better organic Google rankings.

Online Review Management Services For Your Business

Spider Web focuses on generating quality reviews for your business on popular platforms like Google, Yelp, and Facebook.  For businesses with higher sales volume, we offer a more streamlined review management platform that allows you to automate review collection, and get the best SEO benefits.  For your business, we will customize a plan that fits your needs and budget!

Browse the tabs below to learn more about our online review management services.

  • Online review platforms behave as a public word-of-mouth forum where consumers can review your company on a "star" basis, typically on a scale of 1 - 5 with the option to leave comments.  Each business has an "average rating". If you have a 5 star review, and a 1 star review...your average rating will be 3.5 stars.

One drawback with most public review platforms is that each user is required to sign up for an account before they can leave a review, sometimes deterring people from leaving their feedback.

Some of the most popular online review platforms include:

    • Google My Business
    • Facebook
    • Yelp
    • YP (Yellow Pages Online)

There are also industry-specific review platforms that can be highly beneficial for a business. For example, if your business is in the home improvement or building trades, platforms like Angies List, Houzz, and HomeAdvisor are highly recommended.

    THE IMPORTANCE OF ONLINE REVIEWS

This short video breaks down the importance of fresh, quality online reviews for your business

  • Google, Yelp, & Facebook Review Collection

BUILD GREAT REVIEWS ON GOOGLE, FACEBOOK, & YELP

When it comes to getting the best exposure for your reviews, it's important to focus on Google, Facebook, and Yelp to collect customer feedback. These 3 platforms contain the highest concentration of online consumers, so having a solid review rating is vital to grabbing more business.

Through digital and printed mediums, Spider Web helps Michigan business owners encourage their satisfied customers to leave reviews on Google, Yelp, and Facebook:

    EMAIL REVIEW INVITATIONS

The most efficient ways of collecting online reviews is through email correspondence. Spider Web can develop a custom email template used to encourage your customers to leave reviews. This email template can include any type of content you want, including text, images, and links to your Google, Facebook, and Yelp review pages. We will work with you to build a monthly plan to collect email addresses from satisfied customers, and send email review requests.

    PRINTED REVIEW INVITATIONS

Some business owners may prefer more old fashioned way to ask for reviews. We can help you design a printed review invitation (brochure, postcard, flyer, etc) that you can personally hand to, or mail to your customers. • HARNESS THE POWER OF REVIEWS IN GOOGLE SEARCH RESULTS

Google Rich Snippets is a relatively new tool introduced by Google, allowing businesses to showcase important features, or "snippets" of their products/services within their Google search result listings. Arguably the most powerful snippet is the Average Review Rating, which shows your average star rating from reviews you have collected through our automated review collection platforms.

Showcasing average review snippets provides unique & powerful SEO benefits:

    • Helps you stand out from your competition in search results
    • Provides better organic search engine rankings
    • Generates more traffic, conversions, and in turn better ROI

Let's See Average Review Snippets In Action!

So how do review snippets work? In order to qualify for rich snippets to show on your search results, you must have a qualifying account with a trusted Google review partner, like Verified Reviews. Once you start collecting customer reviews, we will embed your customer reviews in the proper format so they will show on the search results.

Let's take a look at an example of how average review snippets perform for our client, Mr. Furnace Heating and Cooling. Click the link below to perform a live Google search:

Heating and Cooling Sterling Heights, MI

Scroll down a bit until you see the organic search result for Mr. Furnace (see diagram for example). The average review snippet sits below the title, showing the average customer review for Mr. Furnace in Sterling Heights. You will notice how it not only has great organic ranking, but how it sticks out from the competition on the page.

WHAT CAN I DO IF I GET A BAD REVIEW FROM A CUSTOMER?

Bad reviews are sometimes unavoidable. In many cases, you just can't please everyone, and a less than savory review might pop up. The best thing to do is to respond to the review ASAP (within the review platform) to provide your side of the story to the public, and most importantly, show that you care about the bad feedback. It's also recommended you reach out to the customer personally, if possible, to try and reconcile the issue. Many times, that will convince the customer to amend, or remove the review. Remember, only the customer has the power to remove or edit their review.

WHAT DO I DO IF I GET A FRAUDULENT REVIEW?

This is a broad issue in the realm of digital reviews and is handled differently from platform to platform. Sometimes, a competitor will leave a fake negative review on a competitor's page, in attempt to hurt the business. If you get a fraudulent or spammy review, make sure you respond and point out you don't have record of them being a customer. Then, report the review to the system (Google, Yelp, Facebook) ASAP. Sometimes when you dispute the review, they will investigate it and eventually remove it from your profile.

CAN I JUST HAVE ALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY LEAVE ME REVIEWS?

Having friends and family leave reviews, or posting reviews for yourself isn't necessary illegal or anything, but review systems like Google, Yelp, etc have advanced algorithms that monitor each review, and can identify if your reviews are coming in too frequently, or from the same source, etc, and in turn can flag the reviews and hide them from the public. So, feel free to have friends/family leave reviews, just beware of them possibly being screened. At the end of the day, it's crucial to collect genuine reviews from real customers, that will ultimately provide you the most benefits.

HOW MANY REVIEWS SHOULD I HAVE?

Obviously, the more reviews you have, the better. But it's not just about quantity or quality of the reviews...search engines and online consumers look at frequency and age of reviews. If you have a good amount of reviews, but not any recent reviews, that will hurt your reputation. The aim is quality, quantity, and frequency!

HOW CAN I GET MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE AUTOMATED REVIEW PROGRAMS?

The automated review collection programs can seem quite complex, understandably so since the idea is relatively new. The platforms come with many bells and whistles you can use to your advantage. If you'd like more information, feel free to reach out and we can arrange a demo for you.

I DON'T HAVE ANY REVIEW PROFILES, LIKE GOOGLE OR YELP FOR MY BUSINESS. CAN YOU HELP ME SET THEM UP?

Absolutely! In addition to building Google, Yelp, or Facebook pages, we can get your business listed in a variety of online directories. Visit our Local SEO page to discover all the directories we can list you in. Or, contact us for more pricing and information.
